For a long time, smartphones are made of plastic for its low cost and light weight. After that, other different options such as metal, wood, bamboo, glass and leather, have been tried out by companies.
While more options are available, each one has its own pros and cons. For example, when we choose metal, we will have to live with its heavy weight and signal loss, which is exactly where plastic beats metal. So, can we make a phone that is light, solid and won’t influence the signal reception? Sounds like crazy, but DOOGEE managed to do that! How?
The back cover of the Valencia2PRO adopts eco-friendly polycarbonate as the base, and then processed with abrasive belt wire drawing on fine mould. Because of that, we have wider range of choice, which means we can choose the abrasive belt granularity according to the size and shape of the workpiece, eventually achieving the ideal effect of wiredrawing.
After high quality aluminum alloy is ground into nanoscale powder, it will be mixed with the world's leading Japanese Musashi paint in a proper proportion. The mixture then will be sprayed on the surface of the cover, and infiltrates into every grain. The paint color, metal content and the thickness of coating should be accurately controlled to make the cover look good and does not interfere with the signal.
Before spraying, first of all the back cover must be electrostatic. After that, under the high frequency vibration of the ultrasonic wave, the particles of aluminum alloy are evenly adsorbed on the surface of the back cover, automatically forming a silky metallic texture. Finally, brush a layer of lubrication oil texture to improve wear resistance of the cover. Until then, the whole procedure is done.
That is how the lightest metal cover was made. We are glad to see companies like DOOGEE have made a breakthrough when it comes to the choice of smartphone material. In the coming age, it looks like we may see a lot more newer materials on smartphones which will be much better than plastic, glass or even metal.
